Here are shots from the path to and from Death Valley, mostly the
Mojave desert area. Included is the Antelope Valley California Poppy
Reserve. When we went, it was still a bit early, and the day was cold
and not sunny, so the poppies did not open up. Will be quite something
on a sunny day in April.

I set up my tripod to take a pano. High winds blew the tripod and it hit this civic, possibly making a small scratch. The driver was in a tizzy demanding my driver's licence and insurance (I was just a passenger and this was not a car accident so I am not sure why he thought they were relevant) He was convinced he would pay $500 to replace his fender over a small scratch (if you can see it) and wanted $500. That was nuts, but I felt bad so I gave him $100. I doubt he ever meant to replace the fender.

These rocks, on the way into Death Valley from Panamint Valley, looked like human faces in a mini-Rushmore.
