Selected Aerial Shots

This year I did a really intensive survey of the city from the air, thanks to campmate Ed Falk's Mooney. I ended up with about 500 photos, including closeups of most blocks. However, processing them is a great deal of work -- they need selection, serious colour correction and identification of what block they are, which is surprisingly hard.

The Google went and did their own complete shot in google maps (which is even fancier in Google Earth.) You can see your camp in there and find it easily. Their shots are all directly above, mine are much closer and from the side. Some day, perhaps with Amazon Mechanical Turk or similar, I will get them classified. And put them up for annotation by burnings like I did for the 2005 aerial survey. For now, here are a few nice examples.
