This year I got the great opportunity to shoot the Burn from a boomlift.
The main goal were some giant panoramas but some regular shots are below.
It was quite an adventure.
Doing this is really hard. Boomlifts are not very stable, but night
photography requires a solid platform. Having another photographer
on the lift who had to move around made it vastly harder. This is
particularly true when you want to shoot a 36 shot panorama, and any
shot that wobbles ruins the whole thing. Plus he has to duck for part
of it. There was no choice but to shoot short exposures and try to
brighten them in many cases.
