San Francisco, 1971, from the Bay Bridge (Originals by Bruce Steinberg)

In 1971, fellow photographer Bruce Steinberg climbed the Bay Bridge for a photo book on the bridgeworkers. He shot many photos, including an overlapping set of shots from the top. They sat, gathering mould, until he saw my panoramic work of SF, and so I scanned his shots and assembled this panorama. Note the now-demolished Embarcadero Freeway, the lack of Sutro tower, and the Transamerica Pyramid still under construction.

You can enjoy more panoramas on my San Francisco Panorama page with links to many other panoramas and shots. We also have this image available with over ten times the pixels for those wishing prints.
