Ed Falk took us up for a spin in his Mooney, my first chance to see and photograph Black Rock City from up in the air. A great ride and some fun photos. Each photo file is named to help describe what is visible.

We did two circuits around the city at about 1200' above ground level. Overflying the city was discouraged. Had to shoot through windows, so these shots are not as clear and contrasty as might be hoped. Kathryn also did some G5 shots through an even worse window. The G5 does a very different colour balance as you can see.

One thing I note is the immense empty space around the camp at 10 and Neptune. That camp must have been loud to scare away all the neighbours. The 2 o'clock zone isn't nearly that desolate.

While the Mooney was great fun, next year if you are a pilot willing to take me up in a wing-above aircraft, ideally with the window removable or openable, I could get sharper shots...
