These shots are of the Alps in late January of 2008 and 2010. I also have some shots of other locations in Europe

This is a 360 degree view from the top of "L'Aguille du Midi" a peak right next to Mont Blanc, the highest peak in western Europe. Mt. Blanc is under the sun. There is a gondola up here -- the highest vertical ascent in the world. This is an "impossible" shot done by combining shots around the edge of the top observation platform -- you can't see this view from any publicly accessible spot.
This is a close up detail on the mountains near Mt. Blanc. I shot a few of these and was distressed to see after the fact that I had goofed them up in really stupid ways. An effect of being up at 3800 metres of altitude!
A view down into Chamonix, below the mountain, and site of the first Winter Olympics.

Dusk, with full moon rising, over Lugano, Switzerland, near the Italian border.
In a rare personal appearance, I stand at the peak of Gaislachkogl near Sölden, Austria in the Ötztal, not far from where Ötzi the ice-man was found.

The San Bernardino pass through the Alps towards Italy.
A freezing waterfall in Lauterbrunnen (Berner Oberland)
The tiny village of Iseltwald, on the Brienzer See between Interlaken and Luzurn.

The view of Lugano, as the sun is setting. Not top quality but interesting.

It's hazy, but you can still make out the spectacular Lauterbrunnen Valley from the top of a funicular over Mürren. (Allmendhubel)
A daytime view of Grenoble
A farmer's market in Grenoble. A few flaws in this one but it's interesting.
