Eclipse Sequence

Eclipse Sequence

This sequence was taken by placing a point and shoot camera on the rail overlooking the deck, and having it shoot a picture every 20 seconds around totality.

You can see how sudden totality is. Just before it starts, the light is still strong, and the shadows become very sharp. The light is ethereal.

Then suddenly darkness. Sadly, just 2 minutes later it's over. In this shot you can see the shadow of the moon receding aft from the ship just after totality.
