Outside Death Valley & Mojave Desert

Here are shots from the path to and from Death Valley, mostly the Mojave desert area. Included is the Antelope Valley California Poppy Reserve. When we went, it was still a bit early, and the day was cold and not sunny, so the poppies did not open up. Will be quite something on a sunny day in April.

I set up my tripod to take a pano. High winds blew the tripod and it hit this civic, possibly making a small scratch. The driver was in a tizzy demanding my driver's licence and insurance (I was just a passenger and this was not a car accident so I am not sure why he thought they were relevant) He was convinced he would pay $500 to replace his fender over a small scratch (if you can see it) and wanted $500. That was nuts, but I felt bad so I gave him $100. I doubt he ever meant to replace the fender.
