Here are my panoramas from the 2005 Black Rock City.
These are just the panoramas. Be sure to check out my regular sized photos of 2005 plus also:
Of course don't forget the 2006, 2004 and 2003 Panoramas and all the other years.
In particlar, for a different view of the city, look at the large array of aerial photos in the 2005 galleries.
In 2005 I got the use of a boomlift (cherry picker) at sunset on Friday. In addition, earlier in the week I went on an art tour in the giant Purple Palace art-bus with the chance to shoot panoramas from its high rear platform.
Please note these panoramas are very large and recommended mostly for people with broadband connections. I have made them even larger this year, though most of the files are at 10 times less resolution than the real originals -- you need to see them printed.

Just before sunset, the city is captured from a boomlift high above center camp. This one is full of people and vehicles doing interesting things, riding around, marching to the man and much more. The setting sun is seen at both the left and right sides of the photo, the open playa in the middle.
|bm05-ring.jpg (16716 x 1100 - 1723K)||Full size is 51622 x 3397 (175 Megapix). (15' 2" x 1' [$152] at 283DPI) (See Full-Rez Slice)|
About 20 minutes before the sun hits the mountains, from a boomlift on the open playa, about 6:20. See the billion bunny protest march moving through the keyhole of center camp, the dance of the umbrellay guy and a city getting ready for its last night before the burn.
Because much of this is shot into the sunset, some of the people and vehicles are quite dark, including the bunny marchers.

In the bright daytime, we gather on the Purple Palace for an art tour. This wide angle shot captures the bustle of center camp by the Artery, including the long ice line.
|ccamp10.jpg (4400 x 1100 - 656K)||Full size is 11823 x 2956 (35 Megapix). (4' 11" x 1' 3" [$61] at 200DPI) (See Full-Rez Slice)|
Another super-wide angle shot, done at sunset, allows you to see the full extent of the center camp cafe and the city around it.
|ccamp22.jpg (7661 x 1100 - 854K)||Full size is 22153 x 3181 (70 Megapix). (7' x 1' [$70] at 265DPI) (See Full-Rez Slice)|
This middle-angle shot makes a compromise of detail and seeing more of the center camp environment.

Dicky locked himself in this box on the playa for the whole week. We stopped to talk to him. Here's his box in the context of the open playa, from the Purple Palace.
